It's an Alchemist Build with a Ranger Dedication. So I came up with an alternate crossbow build that I would play. This, unfortunately, sacrifices damage, but I think it's worth it for the fun of the game. ![]() I like builds with a good amount of variation. I do like the idea of a crossbow build but gameplay-wise, it seems like you spend each and every combat turn just shooting and moving. And at medium to high levels, you'll probably have some reagents to spare for healing and buffing elixirs. Quicksilver Mutagen will keep your ranged attack bonus up, you can hand out poisons to all your party members and poison their weapons between combats for free with perpetual infusion. But you get to play around with a crossbow, bombs, poison AND dual-wielding. This is by no means an extremely powerful build. Might want to have a returning dagger or something similar to switch to instead of bombs once the target is poisoned. ![]() You basically spend every turn after the first with Reload > have your Familiar hand you a bomb from your bandolier > Double Slice.Īpplying Flensing Slice after turn 1 will be a bit tricky. Just in case we ever miss with both attacks, we can still get a hit - with poison attached, of course. No idea how this even works at range, but by RAW it does. Who will also suffer a -2 penalty against the save of the poison. First round will be move closer (if necessary), use Double Slice to throw the Bomb, making the enemy flat-footed, then shoot with the crossbow at full attack bonus -2 vs. Start combat with a loaded ranged weapon in one hand and a vial of Bottled Lightning in the other. Bottled lightning + poisoned crossbow bolt? Yes please! Or hand crossbows/blowguns filled with poisonous amunition. You can now use Double Slice with any one handed ranged attack/weapon. Maybe you can double slice Daggers occasionally or something. Familiar gets Valet and Independent abilities so you can "pull" a bomb as a free action every turn. level 1: Familiar and Far Lobber (via Natural Ambition).Human (Heriage doesn't matter) Toxicologist Alchemist.Precison-Ranger is the most obvious choice and makes for a good "one hard attack per round" build.Īnother option can be the Rogue with the Archer Archetype, using Parting Shot to apply Sneak Attack.įor a VERY different kind of crossbow user, I'm fond of the dual-wielding Toxicologist: Pathfinder Society Subreddit /r/PathfinderĪ list of AP-specific subreddits can be found in the wiki Pathfinder General Subreddit /r/Pathfinder_RPG Homebrew and Pathfinder Infinite /r/Pathfinder2eCreations ![]() The current affected topics are blaster casters / caster accuracy, and new threads may only be posted on Tuesday (PDT).
